FIRES BREAK OUT IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY
What appears to be a big shower on the radar in New York Harbor and over South Brooklyn is actually a smoke plume from fires that have broken out today in Secaucus and Kearney New Jersey. Red flag warnings continue for the entire area and as a result of the dry conditions fires the risk for fires breaking out anywhere in the area from Eastern Pennsylvania northeast to Southern New England continues. The risk for fires will remain elevated through this evening. Conditions could be ripe for fires again on Wednesday as there is no rain in the forecast until Friday. If you look closely at the local loop below you can see the plume of smoke in motion.
