There are no big issues regarding the Easter Sunday Weather Outlook. The only issues are cloud cover (how much) and and ocean wind. This is going to impact temperatures on Sunday especially in Eastern New Jersey, New York City, Long Island and much of Connecticut. High pressure is building over New England and an onshore flow is setting up. I am actually surprised at the extent of the cloud cover along the coast today. This leads me to believe there will be more clouds around tomorrow. Still some breaks of sun should come into the mix. This afternoon we will see a mix of sun and clouds with more clouds along the coast. Temperatures are in the 50s today with highest temperatures inland.
Easter Sunday Weather Outlook GFS model Easter Sunday Morning
Easter Sunday morning should be dry with temperatures in the 40s. The GFS model has some light rain developing well to the south of us and I don’t believe rain will be an issue at all on Sunday. Sunday night might be a different story as the lower atmosphere gets moist. We could see some light rain or drizzle break out in some places especially along the coast. Monday a cold front approaches and unlike Friday where we saw the warm sector take over and the showers just fall apart, this time there might be a little more to play with. Some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm should accompany the frontal passage which occurs during Monday morning. The onshore flow gets displaced briefly before the cold front passes.
Easter Sunday Weather Outlook GFS FORECAST MONDAY MORNING
Once the front goes by weather conditions should improve Monday afternoon. Cooler air returns Monday night. Tuesday and Wednesday look nice with sunshine and near average temperatures with highs both days in the 50s and lows in the 30s. As far as the longer range goes models continue to target next weekend with the arrivial of a shot of very cold air. That air will be with us for a few days. It looks like its one shot of cold air and then done. And as of right now there is still nothing that suggests any kind of snow threat at all.
