December Chill In The Air
It is a dry but chilly Sunday as we start the day with sunshine but the satellite loop does show clouds to the south and west and they will arrive later today. Overall the December chill is in the air with temperatures topping out in the low to mid 40s. Sunshine will give way to clouds later this afternoon and clouds will thicken up this evening as low pressure (or at least a small piece of one) moves out of the Tennessee and Ohio Valley.
We are beginning to see rain on the regional radar moving into North Carolina and Southern Virginia. There will be the threat for a little rain or wet snow during the Giants Steelers game in Pittsburgh which begins at 4:30pm EST.
There are no changes in the forecast for the overnight into Monday morning. Moisture will stream eastward. Some snow will develop after midnight with a light mix along the coast. This is not going to amount to much as it snows into early to mid morning inland. A coating to an inch or so looks like a good bet in areas north and northwest of NYC and Philadelphia, New Jersey mainly north and west of Route 78 and in the Hudson Valley north of 287, Connecticut especially north of route 15.
Low pressure from the Gulf States heads our way for Tuesday so there will be another round of precipitation. Inland temperatures are borderline so there could be another round of mix or wet snow north and west of the coast with rain everywhere else.
