ANOTHER SHOT OF COLD AIR ARRIVES TONIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING
GUSTY WINDS THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT, WINDS CHILLS DOWN IN THE 20S.
ANOTHER SUB PAR WARM UP SATURDAY BEFORE ANOTHER COLD SHOT ARRIVES
At least the start of today is rather tame with sunshine to kick things off on this Wednesday. However here comes another cold front and with it clouds roll in this afternoon and toward late afternoon and evening we could see a few scattered showers. Temperatures today will make it back into the lower 60s before temperatures drop off tonight. Winds will be picking up this afternoon and become rather gusty especially along the coast. It won’t get too windy but some gusts of 20 to 30 mph will be common and as the temperatures fall tonight into the 30s, the winds will make it feel even colder.
The satellite shows clouds coming down from the northwest. Yesterday’s wave to the south which brought some high clouds into the picture overnight are gone and now the front becomes the player. The moisture is very limited so even if you do see some rain showers, it won’t last long and won’t amount to much. Well to the north and west in elevated areas of the Hudson Valley and the Catskills and Northeast Pennsylvania we could see a few snow showers get into the mix but here too they won’t amount to anything. It is just another sign that each day winter draws closer.
EASTERN SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Thursday morning lows could drop into the upper 20s well north and west of the coast while most lows will be in the 30s. Sunshine will follow on Thursday’s but highs will just be in the 40s and that sets us up for clear skies and light winds Thursday night into Friday morning so look for frost to develop in areas away from the warmer urban centers. Lows Friday morning in the coldest spots will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Look for lows in the mid to upper 30s everywhere else. Friday temperatures recover back into the 50s. as the next cold front approaches on Saturday.
Saturday brings another cold front and with it clouds and the chance for a few showers. Temperatures will warm into the lower 60s which is sub par and short lived as another shot of cold air comes in for Sunday and Monday. Sunday we will see sunshine and some clouds with lows in the morning in the 20s and 30s and highs Sunday just in the 40s. Sunday night into Monday morning will be another morning of frosts and freezes with lows again in the mid 20s to mid 30s. Monday with some sunshine we should be back into the 50s. The chilly autum pattern is here to stay.
