Cold Today Friday Saturday Dry Sunday Brings Showers
Overnight a cold front passed through and this morning that front is offshore along with the clouds and precipitation that move through some places. Now we are in a breezy cold air mass as high pressure builds in from the Great Lakes. We are seeing some sunshine along with some patchy clouds. Temperatures today will settle in the 40s. Radars are quiet though there are some snow showers in upstate NY and a little bit of late effect action.

WEATHER RADAR
This air is arctic in nature and skies tonight will be mostly clear but it will be very cold. By morning lows will be in the teens to low 20s but winds should start to ease overnight and take some of the sting out of the air.
Friday the cold high will be along the coast and we will settle down with lots of sunshine. After the cold start, temperatures should respond nicely and top out in the mid to upper 30s. Some spots to the south of NYC could approach 40 degrees. Radars will be quiet on Friday with no issues.
Over the weekend we will deal with the first of 2 storm systems. However the first one is tracking so far to our west that the impact here will be minimal in my view. Saturday originally looked like a cloudy day with an ocean wind but we have grown more optimistic and we will now go partly sunny for the Saturday outlook. Highs will be in the upper 40s to mid 50s.
A warm front that was supposed to set up to our south is now going to set up well to our north. This means that warmer air will move up the coast and Sunday’s highs will reach the 60s away from the ocean. There will also be clouds and some midday showers but they shouldn’t amount to much. There is a second low that comes out of the lower Mississippi Valley and heads northeast. This low will be further east and brings a higher chance for rain here Monday into Tuesday. We will cover this more later today.
