Cold Front Brings Thunderstorm Risk Humidity Relief Follows Tonight Sunday

Two cold fronts are approaching today. The first will bring the chance of a few thunderstorms ahead of and we will indicated that there is a chance for one or two of those thunderstorms in the mix to potentially strong or even severe. The second front follows a few hours behind it with humidity relief. Ahead of all this will be a very warm and humid Saturday at least to start with highs in the mid 80s to near 90 degrees.

Temperatures will be lower than yesterday by 5 to 7 degrees due to cloud cover and the timing of this cold front. We can see some clouds on the satellite views which were absent the last 3 days. The risk for thunderstorms will come earlier than usual as they will probably start firing up around midday.

We can already see clusters of showers and thunderstorms on the regional and local radars as they move along to the northeast. Once the front passes this afternoon the thunderstorms will move offshore and weather conditions will start to improve. The drop in the humidity comes from northwest to southeast late today and tonight with most lows Sunday morning in the low to mid 60s with some 50s inland.

Sunday looks nice and sunny with very low humidity as dew points drop to the low and middle 50s making it a delightful day. Highs will be just into the lower 80s in most places. Temperatures will be in the 70s along the shore with an onshore developing as the day wears on.

We should still be able to hold on to the low humidity on Monday with some sunshine and highs in the low to mid 80s away from the ocean. The southerly flow beings Tuesday with the high offshore. That brings humidity back along with a tropical flow and that means the chance for scattered showers or downpours later in the day Tuesday. Remnant moisture from Tropical Storm or Tropical Depression Fred will likely get into the mix but that moisture will be absorbed by another approaching cold front and will not likely cause any additional rain issues here.
