Cold But Sunny Wednesday Then Temperatures Bounce Higher, Rain Friday
The core of this current cold air mass is overhead today. Yesterday’s upper trough that produced snow showers and a few heavier bursts is now off to the east and the atmosphere is settling down some. We will see a good deal of sunshine today as the atmosphere stabilizes and winds turn more southwesterly later today but this is southwest wind is not a warm up wind, at least not today. Highs will be just in the 30s in most places. Radars should be on the quiet side today with no issues.

WEATHER RADAR
We will have one more night to get through as skies will be mostly clear tonight. Lows will be in the 20s inland and some cold spots if winds drop off could radiate into the teens while warmer urban locations will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Thursday looks like a nice day of sunshine with temperatures finally bouncing higher into the mid and upper 40s. A few warmer spots could break 50.
Moving along to Friday low pressure that develops in the Southern Plains Thursday starts to bring rain to the Ohio Valley and points southward but this is not an especially strong system. Some of the energy and rain will come eastward however and we will see clouds increase late Thursday night. Rain is likely to develop later Friday morning from southwest to northeast but it should move through quickly and most of it will be done by Friday evening.
Temperatures Friday will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s. The weekend sees us between weather systems as one goes to the north and the leftovers from Friday’s system go to the south. This is likely to leave us in between with clouds and highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Sunday we will likely see clouds and there could be some rain that sneaks up the coast for a few hours but we aren’t completely sure of this yet. Highs Sunday will be in the 50s. Later Monday into Tuesday we are likely to see another chance for rain as yet another system heads our way from the Ohio Valley and redevelops just to the southeast.
