Coastal Rain Late Tonight Wednesday Morning

It appears that we will see a little bit of rain along the coast late tonight and Wednesday morning as low pressure passes offshore to the south and east. The back edge of the rain probably won’t make too far west of the coast and should be confined to areas east of the Garden State Parkway along the coast to about NYC. Areas east of there like coastal New Jersey, Long Island and Coastal Connecticut will see it but it should be all gone by mid morning Wednesday. Everyone else will be dry with just some clouds.

COASTAL RAIN NAM MODEL RAINFALL FORECAST

The NAM model is the most aggressive with this showing 1/2 to 3/4 inch amounts but others are far less so we will scale the amounts back by half. The satellite loop shows clear skies over us for now and we should enjoy a beautiful day of mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 50s.

Clouds are flaring up as well as rain in the Northeast Gulf of Mexico and that is the rain for late tonight. Radars in the meantime will be silent into this evening.

REGIONAL RADAR

Once the rain is done Wednesday morning we will see skies clear up Temperatures will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s after the rain is done and drop to the mid 20s to low 30s by Thanksgiving morning. No issues at all for Thanksgiving day with lots of sunshine but it will be cold with highs just in the low to mid 40s. Friday looks nice with sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 40s.

As for the weekend look for dry conditions for the start of Saturday with arriving clouds and the chance for showers and highs in the 50s. Another shot of cold air arrives Sunday with windy conditions and the chance for snow showers. Highs Sunday just in the lower 40s.
