Christmas Week Cold Start
What a difference from yesterday where some places made it to 60 or better (briefly) as cold air arrived late yesterday afternoon and we are hitting bottom right now with temperatures this morning in the teens and lower 20s.
We also have some clouds lingering around this morning as the old cold front is offshore but there are weak little waves moving along it. the clouds will move out as we go through the day and we should see sunshine devlop from west to east but temperatures area going to struggle all day and barely make it back into the 30s.
Radars area quiet this morning and should remain this way, possibly all week given the latest run of weather models. Tonight will be clear and cold with lows in the single digits in colder northern areas to lower 20s in warmer urban locations.
CHRISTMAS WEEK OUTLOOK
Tuesday and Wednesday look good with sunshine each day and temperatures slowly recovering. We should be back to the mid to upper 30s Tuesday and middle 40s on Wednesday. A weak cold front moves through on Thursday with very little with it. Models have been shifting in this direction for the last 2 days. It turns a little colder. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day look dry with no travel issues and temperatures in the reasonable 40s by day. Nothing of consequence in terms of precipitation is forecast until next Monday!
