Chilly Rain Thunderstorms Volatile Weather Pattern Continues
Now that today’s snow is over with let the melting commence and we move on to the next weather system that is already knocking on our doorstep. Don’t expect much clearing tonight as clouds are already on view on the satellite picture. Low pressure is coming out of the Central Plains and heading to the Eastern Great Lakes. A warm front will be setting up to our south. A chilly rain and an onshore flow will dominate on Tuesday with rain and temperatures in the 40s.
US SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Our rapidly moving storm is long gone and now radars are quiet however look for activity to start showing up in some places toward daybreak
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Wednesday the warm front shoots northward and we have a cold front coming in from the west. We could be setting up for some strong thunderstorm activity over parts of the area from Central New Jersey southward. Strong southwest winds will probably keep coastal areas with south facing shores at little risk for thunderstorms. Certainly some downpours are in order as the cold front passes and temperatures run into the 60s in many areas.
GFS FORECAST WEDNESDAY 8AM APRIL 4, 2018
Once this front passes through we will turn colder and dry for Thursday but then the next weather system begins to approach on Friday with another warm front and a cold rain developing though it could begin as a wintry mix in some areas. There are no signs of any prolonged warm dry weather in the next 10 days.
