Above is the forecast snow fall for late Sunday night into Monday morning. This is a light event of a coating to an inch in most places. Some elevated areas could see an inch or two. That should be about it. Meanwhile we have a nice night ahead of us and a nice Sunday though it will be chilly. Lows tonight will be in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Sunday’s highs will only be in the low to mid 40s. The satellite loop shows gulf moisture is streaming northeastward. Weather models have underdone the amount of moisture. We will watch this area closely as it moves northeastward.
Radars are quiet at the moment. Some moisture will be moving into western areas of the regional radar view Sunday afternoon. There may be some rain or wet snow for the Giants Steelers game in Pittsburgh which has a 4:30pm start.
Snow will likely occur between 1am and 8am on Monday. Then there will be a break with leftover clouds Monday afternoon. Monday night we will see clouds and temperatures in the 30s. Low pressure from the Gulf states moves toward the Ohio Valley and redevelops along the Virginia coast later Tuesday. More precipitation arrives Tuesday and if it comes in fast enough, there could be some snow on the front end especially inland. We will have more about this on Sunday.
