Back Door Front Stalls Just North & East Showers Late Tuesday

BACK DOOR COLD FRONT/WARM FRONT LIES JUST NORTH OF NYC

SHOWERS LIKELY LATE TUESDAY & TUESDAY NIGHT

WEDNESDAY THURSDAY WARM, ANOTHER FRONT LATE THURSDAY

The frontal boundary set up up to the north across the Pennsylvania NY border to Southern New England. Boston is sitting in rain and temperatures in the 50s while NYC is in the mid 70s. You can see the southern edge of the clouds. They should stay north of the coast as the warm front starts to edge northward and a weak cold front comes in from the west on Tuesday. Clouds and some patchy fog are possible tonight with most lows in the 60s.

In spite of all the cloud cover to the north there isn’t a lot of rain being produced out of this. Much of what we are seeing is on the light side or just some patchy drizzle.

The next front late this week has a bit more of a push of cooler air behind it. It isn’t a lot but it is going to bring the front down to the Middle Atlantic states and give us a couple of days in clouds and an onshore flow going into the weekend. We still don’t see much regarding any big rain events going forward. We are still going to keep an eye on the area off the Southeast coast of the US to the Greater Antillies as an area where we could see a tropical system develop over the weekend or early next week. We shall see how this plays out.
