Another Storm Dance Shift Left?
Before we address the next 1 or 2 or 3 weather systems (yes 3) let’s review what is happening now that this storm is over. We had up to a foot of snow over parts of Long Island though not all the numbers are in yet. Lower amounts west and north.

Satellite loop shows the deepening wave moving to the east now and it is being replaced by dry air and clear skies to the west. We should have a nice night of weather ahead with clear skies and light winds. Snow cover should allow temperatures to drop to the 20s with some upper teens in some places.
Another Storm Dance Shift Left Satellite & Radar Loops
Both Saturday and Sunday should be 2 good days with some sunshine and highs reaching into the 40s both days. Skies Saturday night will be clear with lows in the 20s to near 30.
Now next week we have issues and quite a few of them from a forecast standpoint. 2 storms for the first part of the week that will interact with each other in some way. We are already seeing some models doing a leftward shift with a lead low that will be offshore Sunday and early next week. This will be followed by another system for Tuesday into Wednesday. There are all sorts of complications here that won’t be resolved in the short range.
Another Storm Dance Shift Left New NAM model Vs NAM 12 hrs earlier
Today’s NAM shows a decidedly northwest shift of the ocean storm when compared with the model run from 12 hours ago and even 6 hours ago. The European continues to try to do the same thing though it is a little further east. Bottom line is that we may be dancing that leftward dance again so lets see what the next few runs do. Or maybe we should just wait until we are inside 48 hours! Another Storm Dance Shift Left!
The European has the two storm solution and here is last night’s video analysis of the European.
