90 Degree Temperatures Except Along The Coast
90 Degree Temperatures Except Along The Coast
Looking at temperatures at 3pm we are seeing a slew of 90 degree plus temperatures and we will probably add another degree or two to those numbers. However south facing areas like Long Island and Coastal Connecticut are seeing a bit of a different story as the south wind has kicked in and temperatures have fallen well off their highs into the 70s and they will probably drop a bit further as we head into this evening.
This is a great example of what happens along the coast this time of year with water temperatures still in the icy cold low 50s. The ocean breeze just fires up in the afternoon and shuts off the heating. On the satellite loop its nothing but sunshine. Some high clouds to the west are moving northeast and most of those will probably stay to our west. A warm night is head with many areas probably not dropping much below the 60s.

REGIONAL RADAR
Meanwhile out in the Western US a major mid spring snowstorm is getting underway and over the next few days many areas will see a foot plus of snow across the Northern & Central Rockies. In fact some areas could receive 2 to 3 feet across parts of Colorado & Wyoming. This is late even for them! Severe weather sets up the boundary zone in between across the middle of the United States.
Thursday we see more 90 degree plus weather and I think some areas in New Jersey could see temperatures as high as 95. The coast will also reach 90 before any sea breeze develops. Then Friday will be the last day of warmth with highs in the 80s and the chance for thunderstorms. The weekend brings a change.
High pressure from Canada builds down from the north which will put us in an onshore flow for Saturday and Sunday. It will be dry with sunshine but temperatures in most places by day will not be out of the 60s. No rain is forecast for the weekend.
