27th Day of No Rain And Counting Dry Colder Into Monday

Before Another Warm UP Gets Underway

A cold front has passed to the east and while there are some leftover clouds around we will see developing sunshine today and a freshening northwest winds. Once again there is no moisture around and this front produced no rain overnight. This means today is the 27th straight day of no rain and that streak still has quite a long way to go and we will likely set records for the longest dry spell as well as October 2024 being the driest October and the driest month ever.

Temperatures this afternoon will reach the upper 60s and lower 70s mainly due to the leftover warm air that remained overnight. Then tonight as the northwest breeze continues, we see colder air coming southward around a new Canadian high that is heading east from the Great Lakes. Skies will be mostly clear and lows by Sunday morning will be in the 30s everywhere except for the warmest coastal spots and warmer urban areas.

We move along to Sunday which is going to be a rather cool day thanks to this new dry air mass. It will be another day of sunshine. Temperatures will be topping out mostly in the middle 50s to around 60 degrees. Sunday night into Monday morning will be quite cool. Upper 20s are possible in cold spots and inland lows will be in the low to mid 30s. Urban areas will be closer to 40.

The chilly air will extend into Monday with sunshine and highs that will reach the mid 50s to some lower 60s. Then the high moves east of Cape Cod and we begin a warming west southwest flow and that will take temperatures up higher as we move through the rest of the week. Tuesday sunshine will take highs well into the 60s. Wednesday we will go even higher into the low and middle 70s. Thursday sunshine will take highs to the mid 70s to around 80 degrees. The warm air lasts into Friday as another front passes (with not a drop of rain) and then another dry and colder air mass moves in for the weekend.
