The east west trough that extends from a storm out in the Atlantic is lined up just perfectly over Southern New Jersey this afternoon. You can see the clouds blossiing in a narrow band between Long Island and Cape May. Snow is falling at rates of 1 inch or more an hour with temperatures in the upper 20s to around 32.  This is a small localized event and is not going to impact anywhere else in New Jersey outside of the advisory and warnings areas shown above.

Radar shows the snow over South Jersey extending eastward offshore. It is unusual to see a system like this from a storm so far out to the east. The snow should start to diminish as we head into the evening hours and will impact the evening commute in South Jersey.
