Tropical Storm Ian Forms In Central Atlantic
No Threat To Land
Satellite pictures this morning show that the tropical wave and associated low pressure center has become the season’s 9th tropical storm. Tropical Storm Ian has been shown by models for the last 10 days to recurve east of 60W longitude and there is no change in this forecast at all. Conditions are not favorable for strengthening at the moment. You can see the low level circulation remains partially exposed due to some shearing going on in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
