One of the things that has struck me about the system in the Tropical Atlantic is how weather models 7 or 8 days ago began showing this and showing it turning well east of 60 degrees west. And right on cue it has begun to move northwestward out of the deep tropics. Its amazing how models can be so good some times and so poor at other times. This system is likely to become a tropical storm over the next week or so as it takes the ocean cruise northward east of 60 west. The upper air forecast suggests that this will not get further west than the upper 50s degrees longitude.
Back on the mainland we have some beautiful weather moving in for the afternoon with increasing amounts of sunshine, lowering humidity and temperatures topping out in the lower 80s.
No changes in the forecast over the next few days. Monday and Tuesday look good. Here is the latest forecast.
