Thanksgiving Weather Getaway Day
Today is the big getaway travel day for the Thanksgiving holiday and the weather could not be better for travel if you are going by car and your destination is within 200 miles. There are no weather issues for you to worry about. Even if you area headed into upstate NY the lake effect snow machine has shut down for now and you have no worries. Locally skies will be mostly sunny today as the clouds from the next weather system won’t arrive until late this afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 40s and the wind finally will be reasonable.
During tonight low pressure now in the midwest pushes eastward and weakens. The precipitation from that is light and not well organized. Look for cloudy skies tonight and there could be some light precipitation in the early morning hours. In areas inland temperatures could be a bit more critical and a light mix can’t be ruled out.
Thursday looks to be a rather cloudy day with some passing showers possible as low pressure disorganized as it is tries to fire up a little moisture. Overall the day should not be that bad and you certainly should be able to get around even if some showers do happen to burst on the scene. Friday into Saturday morning there could be a few showers but overall the weather should be dry through the weekend. The next chance for rain comes Tuesday with a strong cold front approaching from the west.
