Thanksgiving Precipitation Approaching On Radar
Thanksgiving Precipitation Approaching On Radar
Latest satellite and radar shows precipitation approaching. Much of it is light and not reaching the ground yet in most places. Looking at the temperature profiles in areas away from the coast we see any areas in the 30s. The air is dry enough for a little evaporational cooling to occur so if this precipitation were to reach the ground in those colder areas, it could start out as a mix or even some freezing drizzle away from the coast and warmer urban locations. If you are travelling just beware of some slick spots.
The weather system coming in from the Great Lakes remains weak and is likely to stay that way through Thursday. Weak low pressure will likely for nearby on Thursday and this could create some showers during the afternoon and evening. Some spotty rain is likely in the morning but it is also likely that many areas won’t see much if anything at all. Temperatures on Thursday will have a tough time with clouds and are likely to remain mostly in the 40s. This will be the 6th day in a row of below normal temperatures which is a streak we have not seen in a long time.
Showers will probably disappear tomorrow night and Friday dayside looks dry with clouds and maybe a few breaks of sun. However more showers are likely Friday night into Saturday morning as low pressure develops to the east. Weather conditions should improve from west to east Saturday afternoon and we could see some sunshine. Sunday looks dry with some sun. Highs Saturday will be in the low 50s while Sunday’s highs will be in the 40s. Monday will be chilly before we warm up Tuesday ahead of the next cold front. Showers will arrive Tuesday night into Wednesday.
I sincerely wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving and enjoy your family and friends.
