Temperatures Just In The 40s, Another Wave Arrives Monday
Rain will taper off somewhat tonight, but there will still remain a chance for light rain or drizzle as the area will be between two systems, one pushing offshore and another approaching from the
west. Temperatures will be chilly, with lows in the lower to middle 40s. Some isolated upper 30s are possible well inland. The northeasterly flow will continue which may allow for some minor coastal
flooding.
The chances for rain will increase Monday morning as another area of low pressure develops off the mid-Atlantic coast. Rain is expected across the entire tri-state by the afternoon. The rain may come moderate to briefly heavy at times. The persistent northeasterly flow will mean another chilly day Monday, with highs in the lower 50s. Minor coastal flooding is possible again Monday night.
Rain will taper off somewhat from west to east Monday night, but cool and unsettled conditions look to remain in the picture into the day on Tuesday. Dry and warmer temperatures return for the
middle of the week.
SATELLITE
REGIONAL RADAR
Radars are still rather busy but the back edge of the rain with the first wave is now reaching Eastern Pennsylvania and will slide eastward during this evening. This first round of rain should taper off between 8pm and midnight from west to east.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Wave number 2 is set to arrive during the day Monday with rain developing from west to east late Monday morning into the afternoon. Temperatures might be able to edge up briefly into the 50s before the rains come and then it is back down into the 40s again.
Some improvement begins on Wednesday as the second wave moves away but we still have a strong trough dominating the weather in the east through at least Thursday. Upper air disturbances will be dropping southeastward and this means while there will be some sun and clouds with warmer temperatures ( back into the 60s perhaps) there will still be the chance for passing scattered showers.
Beginning Thursday we have the PGA Championship Golf Tournament at Bethpage Black in Bethpage NY (Long Island). Weather conditions won’t be ideal but all day rains like this seem unlikely. Here is a rundown of the weather forecast for Thursday through Sunday for Bethpage Long Island.
