Sunshine Ends September
Weak Cold Fronts All Week Start October
We are at the end of the ninth month of 2018 and we are finishing it with a day of sunshine and rather cool temperatures. We bottomed in the upper 40s to mid 50s this morning and we will make it back into the upper 60s and lower 70s for most areas this afternoon. There are no serious issues ahead of us today or for this coming week as week cold front will be moving through and each front won’t exactly have a lot of weather with it. There are actually some clouds and showers moving across Northern Pennsylvania and upstate NY as warmer air begins to move east. Most of that activity will be passing by to our north today.

The next several days really will be carbon copies of each other. Monday and Tuesday will be partly sunny with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s Monday and upper 70s and lower 80s on Tuesday. Tuesday night brings a cold front with a few showers. Wednesday and Thursday bring partly sunny skies with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s since the front won’t have much cool air behind it. Then late Thursday and Thursday night another weak cold front comes through with another round of showers and then we do it all over again for Friday and next weekend.
As far as the long range is concerned there is room for something to develop in the tropics next weekend in the Caribbean or in the Bahamas as weather models seem to keeping bringing up this possibility though as always the geography is always in question. It is difficult to deal with tropical systems in theory so we will wait until later this week to see what comes of the upper air pattern across North America and what if anything develops in the subtropics.
