It looks like a very good day ahead for the Northeast & Middle Atlantic states with the satellite loop showing clear skies up and down from Maine to Virginia west to Chicago. The air mass is warm but dry and we should see highs reach 80 to 85 this afternoon with nothing more than a few passing clouds.
The core of this air mass will be moving overhead tonight and Thursday morning so tonight will bring another round of comfortable air condition free sleeping with lows in mostly in the 50s to mid 60s in the warmer urban areas.
There really isn’t much going on across the US today. Other than some scattered thunderstorms in the Deep South and parts of the Plains, the weather overall is on the quiet side. Thursday looks good with sunshine and temperatures between 80 & 85 again. Radars are on vacation until Friday at the earliest.

Looking ahead to Friday we might start to see the humidity come up a bit but there is really no sign of any return to hot weather. There is a good chance Friday will be rain free. I would introduce the chance for a shower or thunderstorm anytime from later Friday night through Sunday but the next weather front appears to look a bit less impressive. This suggests to me that much of the time this weekend it will be okay, just on the warm and somewhat humid side with that risk for a shower or thunderstorm and temperatures in the 80s. I don’t think there will be too many complaints if it turns out that way.
