Spring Arrives Monday Morning
But Temperatures Remains Volatile
Weather conditions tonight are calm and tranquil as winds have dropped off and temperatures are beginning to come off the highs of the day which were in the middle to upper 40s. One thing about the March sun is that it is strong and it doesn’t take make to bring temperatures up if there is enough sun. It also gets rid of the snow cover pretty quickly some of it did get eaten away today in areas that were hit hard by last week’s major storm.
The satellite loop tonight shows an ocean storm moving northeastward toward Nova Scotia taking clouds out to the east. There are some dead clouds to the west but they should disperse as the night wears on. Milder air is coming in for Monday as high pressure moves offshore.
SATELLITE LOOP
REGIONAL RADAR
Radars are quiet and should remain so through Monday. Spring arrives at 6:29am and we will see lots of sun for most of Monday with highs reaching the low to middle 50s in most locations.
Tuesday sees a cold front move through and there could be a very early passing shower. Otherwise it should be mild with some sunshine and highs in the 50s before another cold air mass builds down from Canada. A wave to the south should stay south with no issues here. Wednesday and Thursday will be cold again with highs just in the upper 30s and lower 40s with lots of sun. That next high will pass offshore and we will start warming up. With a little luck we should see 50s Friday and perhaps 60s to near 70 on Saturday before another front moves on through. No big storms are on the horizon as the weather pattern overall is not supportive for major storm development.
