Snow Forecast Tuesday Into Wednesday Morning
First Day Of Spring
We still have our eyes on the complex storm system for Tuesday and Wednesday. Weather models overnight have shifted to the south and it appears right now that the accumulating snow will be in New Jersey mainly south and east of the New Jersey turnpike and grazing Long Island as well. The National Weather Service is taking a bit of an aggressive approach with the northern fringe of the snow on their forecasts this morning. The map above shows the National Weather Service probability of up to 4 inches of snow over the next 72 hours. The blue shows the area indicated as the highest probability which is around 50% at the moment.
We are still trying to resolve how all this energy plays out with the first wave of low pressure on Tuesday and then a second developing storm offshore Wednesday. Weather models make the second storm a close call. We will keep watching this as we have lots of time here. Meanwhile enjoy the cold Sunday with sunshine and highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
