Showers Overnight Mild Sunshine Wednesday

We are waiting for a cold front to move on through the area for the early morning hours while a warm front sits near by. To the south of the warm front its in the 60s and to the north in the upper 40s to near 50. The cold front will eventually sweep the whole mess out Wednesday morning with some showers and a rumble or two of thunder ahead of it. All of this should clear out between 4am-7am and then afterwards we should clear out rather quickly. The satellite loop shows a sharp cut off from clouds to dry air and clear skies. We should see a fair amount of sunshine on Wednesday and it will be nice and mild with highs reaching into the 60s in many areas.

Radars are busy tonight both regional and the local radars below. The rain is not continuous but rather in two distinct bands that will be passing through. The yellow echos indicate some heavier downpours and possible thunderstorms as they all move to the east.

After Wednesday is done we will see a downtrend in temperatures on Thursday with sunshine and arriving clouds though highs will still reach into the 50s. Then we set up for colder air and low pressure developing to our south Thursday night into Friday and that could mean some snow with some places possibly getting a few inches.

JOE’S SNOW FORECAST MAP FOR FRIDAY

Rain and snow should arrive around or a little after midnight with the bulk of any accumulating snow occurring between 4am and 10am before low pressure moves out to the east Friday afternoon. Then much colder air comes in for the weekend with sunshine both Saturday and Sunday. Highs both days will only be in the upper 20s and lower 30s. The storm for Sunday is off the table but there could be another threat for snow Monday night and Tuesday. We will have more on this Wednesday as we begin to evaluate what weather models have to say.
