Record Highs Near 80 Inland
Today is shaping up to be the warmest day of this current stretch because we will a combination of sunshine and enough of a west wind to send temperatures soaring toward record highs. I would not at all be surprised to see temperatures across inland areas of New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania get close to 80 degrees this afternoon.
WEDNEDSDAY Record Highs Near 80 Inland
Most other areas will be in the 70s and as you near the coast you do become susceptible to the wind turning to the southwest or south bringing in cool ocean air inland. Long Island and Coastal Connecticut have this particular issue and to a lesser extent, the New Jersey shore. Highs for these areas will reach the lower 70s before the wind turns around 1pm or so and sends temperatures back down into the 50s and in some cases even the 40s. The cold ocean with water temperatures close to 40 this time of year acts like a huge air conditioner and it kicks in early in the day.

Thursday brings a repeat performance with high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s before a cold front comes through Thursday night into Friday morning with some showers. The showers should be done by 7 or 8am Friday before weather conditions improve later in the day.
Right now I’m thinking that the weekend will see a decent Saturday but a gray Sunday as an onshore flow develops. This is setting us up for a good soaking rain Sunday night through Tuesday of next week. I will have more on this later on.
