After some overnight rains and some heavy downpours it is a damp morning. Much of the rain has shifted to the east. The clouds are straddling the coastline along with rain as it hangs along the New Jersey coast and over Long Island. North and west areas seem to be drying out although it remains overcast. Im thinking that as the day progresses there will be the overall trend of very slow improvement. Perhaps some breaks in the cloud cover are possible. Temperatures today will pretty much stay in the 70s except 60s while it is still raining. However models are bringing back rain later this afternoon and evening along with the chance for some thunderstorms.

Weather conditions will definitely dry out during tonight and some sunshine will be back on Tuesday with highs into the 80s. Wednesday looks good with lots of sunshine with highs in the 70s to near 80.
