CONNECTICUT WEATHER: RADAR APPEARS QUIET TONIGHT. SOME DECENT DOWNPOURS COMING FOR FRIDAY

Connecticut seems to have missed out on thunderstorms today as they formed west of the state. We will leave in the chance for a downpour just in case one flares up but overall tonight it will be just warm and humid with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Thursday looks like another warm and humid day with highs in the low to mid 80s..some sun and clouds and that risk for a downpournam42 nam48Here is the Nam model for Thursday night into Friday morning showing a line of downpours moving into the state Friday morning and they should hold together as they move east for awhile. Upper support here is not strong so the downpours could wind down as they move into Eastern Connecticut late Friday morning or early afternoon.namprecipModels seem to suggest 1/2 inch to and inch of rain for everyone and we will go with this however we need to remember that since the early spring reality has underperformed. Still it will be a statewide rain and at least it is something under these relatively dry conditions. The weekend is shaping up warm and somewhat humid with some sunshine and the risk for scattered downpours although most won’t see them. Daytime temps the next few days will be in the 80 to 85 range and nights will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. No major air mass change until the middle of next week when some dry air comes in for a few days beginning later Tuesday or Wednesday for sure.
