Hurricane Force Wind & Coastal Flood Warning
We are seeing winds continuing to increase this afternoon especially along the coast. The actual low center is still well to the south near Eastern North Carolina so winds will be revving up even more in the next number of hours as we move into tonight. Gusts over 60 mph have already been measured along the New Jersey shore. Rain is moving up as evidenced by the satellite and radars below. In areas north and west of the coast some sleet and snow is being reported in elevated areas and these continue to be the areas most favored for any snow accumulation.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Going into tonight weather conditions will worsen with wind and rain increasing, Some of the rain will be heavy at times. Winds will gust past 60 mph along the coast through the first part of tonight. As for snow and sleet this will be an issue in elevated areas to the north and west under Winter Weather Advisories. For the most part the biggest issue is wind followed by coastal flooding (moderate to isolated major) rain of 1 to 3 inches and snow which will amount to at most a coating to a couple of inches in higher elevations.
NOREASTER FORECAST TIDES ABOVE NORMAL IN FEET
From the standpoint of coastal flooding it will be moderate in nature thanks to being in between moon cycles. Most areas will see tides 2-4 feet above normal at tonight’s high tide.
Weather conditions begin to improve on Tuesday with the noreaster weakening and slowly moving to the northeast. Rain will become more scattered in nature and winds will gradually subside. From the standpoint of Noreasters I would rate this moderate in nature. Some places will experience conditions more fierce than others. Overall we will get by this and see some sunshine on Wednesday.
