New Jersey NYC Long Island Hudson Valley Dry Weekend of Chilly Temperatures Cold Nights

We are on the other side of a cold front that has passed offshore and stalled out overnight. Moisture from the South has pushed clouds overhead. Even the radars are showing light precipitation but very little if any of it is reaching the ground except for perhaps a few places in Southern Pensylvania and Southern New Jersey. This grazing won’t last long and a northerly flow takes over and pushes the front further south. Look for lots of clouds at least into this afternoon before we start to see some clearing. Most highs today will be in the low to middle 50s.

It will turn colder tonight as skies clear out. Saturday morning lows will be in the mid 30s to lower 40s. We have a large high that is building over the Great Lakes, Southeastern Canada, and New England. Chilly air will spread southward through the weekend. There will also be another re-enforcement of chilly air that will come in for Monday and Tuesday. Through all of this we will not see a drop of precipitation.

It is going to be a chilly weekend for sure and Sunday looks to be the colder of the two weekend days. We are looking for sunshine Saturday with highs in the upper 40s to middle 50s Saturday night will be clear and rather cold with lows in the mid 20s to lower 30s. Sunday we will see sunshine but temperatures will have a tough time getting out of the 40s for highs and then another night of mid 20s to lower 30s by Monday morning.

Next week looks to be dry Monday through Thursday. Monday and Tuesday it will still be on the chilly side but we should start to see temperatures bounce higher Wednesday and Thursday. No weather systems will come eastward until the end of the week when a cold front approaches next Friday and with that, we could see some rain or showers. Longer range, the pattern looks to become more active as we head into Thanksgiving week.
