New Jersey Heat Humidity Continue, Relief Late Next Week

New Jersey Heat Humidity Continue, Relief Late Next Week

Sunday in New Jersey is a repeat performance of Saturday though temperatures could be a few degrees higher, reaching the lower 90s and some hot spots in both north and South Jersey could see 94 or 95. The Jersey Shore is the place to be with sunshine and as temperatures approach 90, we will see local sea breezes kick in during the afternoon knocking the temperatures down into the more bearable 80s.

Late afternoon and evening widely scattered thunderstorms are possible and while the risk is there the chances are on the low side. The highest chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm will be inland. Humidity leves remain very high and we don’t see that breaking anytime soon. Monday will be hot and humid with highs 90 to 95. An approaching weak weather front might set up some thunderstorms which could be a bit more numerous than Sunday but again not everyone will see thunderstorms Monday.

Tuesday sees another hot and humid day but there may be a few more clouds around so that might hold the temperatures down closer to 90 degrees with the chance for thunderstorms late in the day. Real relief will come Friday as an upper trough strengthens along the East Coast and a robust dry cooler air mass begins to arrive later Friday and that should stay with us through next weekend. Not much rain is forecast this week as the dry conditions continue unless you are lucky enough to get into any of the showers and thunderstorms that are forecast.
