The rains of today were a start and that’s great news. Now we have more rain coming tomorrow and this second surge of rain looks more impressive and could leave at least an inch and that could make the 2 day totals 1 to 2 inches. Thursday Christmas Eve we have passing showers and record highs. All time record highs are possible in some areas as temperatures will reach into the 70s in many locations.
Christmas Eve I believe will be mostly dry with some passing showers later in the day and into the evening. It will indeed be remarkable to see some all time record highs falls which is possible. It may still be in the low 60s at Midnight Friday morning so the records could carry over into Christmas Day though I expect temperatures to fall into the 50s during Christmas day with a mix of sun and clouds.
Saturday will be a little damp with some more rain. This will be followed by a warmer dry Sunday with temps back to near 60 or so. Cold air will bleed down from New England and that could set us up for cold overrunning rain as low pressure heads to our west on Monday. More on this later this evening.
