MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS BUT NO ADVISORIES FOR THE COAST WATERS

A moderate risk for rip currents continues for the south shore of Long Island but only a low risk for the Jersey shore. The UV index will be high today with sunshine and just a few clouds. Light west winds to onshore during the afternoon. Seas running 2 to 4 feet. Calm on the bays and Long Island Sound. Water temperatures are in the low to mid 70s across all of the coastal waters. Tides running near normal. Air temperatures today will be in the middle 80s.
