The satellite loop is about as impressive you might see for a non tropical storm off the east coast. The center is exceptionally well defined in this strong comma shape structure that is evident on the satellite signature. The low center is kicking out to the east and will turn northeastward shortly. So it remains a matter of how far west the heavy accumulating snow will get. We remain with our forecast. Now admittedly it may be a bit too bullish for western areas however I’m going to leave things as is. Radar shows the precipitation advancing northward along coast. It will sweep in from the east after midnight and arrive first in Eastern areas between 2am and 4am and spread to western areas around daybreak or so.

New RAP Model which is a very good short term model shows the snow accumualtion forecast through 8pm Thursday.
The rap has been very consistent all day long and has the back edge of 3 inches west of New York City and extends southward into Monmouth County in New Jersey and northward into Westchester County in New York. The back edge of 1 inch drops off sharply north and west of the New Jersey Turnpike.
Coastal Flood Advisories are up for the New Jersey shore for higher than normal tides Monday due to the new moon and the strong north northeast winds especially offshore. This could lead to some minor coastal flooding at high tide on Monday.
