Long Island Tuesday One More Hot Day Cooler Less Humid Late Week

Long Island Tuesday One More Hot Day Cooler Less Humid Late Week

Tuesday will be the last day of hot weather though the humidity will continue into Thursday. Tuesday will mark the 8th day in a row of 90 degree highs and the streak will end there. We have a weather front that will be approaching so look for sunshine, hot and very humid conditions. Highs will reach the low 90s. Late in the day Tuesday as the weather front nears we will see some showers and thunderstorms. This looks to be a little more than scattered activity but there will be some places that wind up missing out on much needed rain.

Humidity levels will not drop much Wednesday as the frontal boundary stalls and dies out but there is another front that follows so look for more clouds than sun Wednesday with the chance for late day showers and thunderstorms.  Highs will be mostly in the 80s. The second front will push through Thursday with another chance for a shower or thunderstorm with highs in the 80s.The second front will bring in a cooler and much drier air mass for Friday and for the weekend. Sunshine and some clouds Friday will come with a nice northwest breeze. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s with much lower humidity. We should be able to duplicate that outlook for Saturday and probably Sunday as well.
