Let’s put all of this in some sort of perspective. Some snow is going to fall Sunday night. Even if it were a worst case scenario I don’t think this is going to be a big deal. Snow that falls Sunday night will stick. Once the sun is up Sunday morning roads will quickly become wet and by Monday afternoon much of what would have fallen would have melted under the strong March sun. This is not going to impede travel in any serious way. It will look nice and pretty for an hour or so Monday morning at that is it.

With regards to my snowfall forecast, my original forecast stands. I am making no changes at all after reviewing the model guidance tonight. The NAM model is the most aggressive which would argue for a larger area of snow of 6 inches or so in some places and perhaps the back edge of 4 inches might be near New York City with higher amounts going east over Long Island and south along Coastal New Jersey. Other models tonight were a little lower than the late afternoon model package. I perfer to remain conservative about this. Given all the model flips back and forth it is hard to gain any confidence.
