Improving Weather Conditions Begin Today As Low Moves Offshore
Dry Weather Through the End of the Week
We are still waiting for the final push coming in from the west and that is a cold front. This front will finally get the last of the former Helene/upper air storm offshore and gone. In the meantime today we have clouds around. There is dry air from New England that will push southward again so from Central NJ northward and northeast into Long Island and Southern New England we will likely see cloudy to partly sunny conditions while to the south in South Jersey and South Pennsylvania look for it to be mainly cloudy and there could be a few passing showers. Most highs will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s depending on how much sun breaks through.

We are still seeing areas of rain across Central Pennsylvania southward into Maryland and Virginia. Most of this will slide to the east and southeast later today and into tonight. Otherwise clouds will be around with most lows in the mid 50s to around 60. Wednesday a cold front moves across Upstate NY and New England. There is going to be a narrow band of showers with this front that for the most part will go by to the north.
After this frontal passage high pressure will build into the Eastern US and it will likely carry us through into the upcoming weekend. Actually the weather across the US looks to be mostly on the quiet and dry side all week long and into the weekend. As far as tropical cyclone development in the Gulf of Mexico is concerned, though pressures are lower than normal there, upper air conditions are somewhat hostile for development so for now we do not see any tropical storm issues for the Gulf Coast through this weekend.
This leaves us with a cloudy to partly sunny day Wednesday. Winds will turn more northwest and that puts an end to the seemingly endless days of onshore flow. Wednesday highs will reach into the lower 70s in most areas. Thursday looks to partly to mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 70s and the same hold for Friday. Right now the weekend looks to be mostly dry though we do have another cold front that will probably pass through Saturday. This front looks a lot like the front for Wednesday where there will be a narrow band of showers with it and most of those showers will pass to the north. No major storms (or even minor ones) are in the cards anytime soon.
