Humidity Rises Wednesday Heat Returns Thursday to New Jersey

We did get a break in the humidity in most of New Jersey today except for the southernmost counties where the humidity was high thanks to cloud cover. We even saw some scattered light showers around. The satellite shows a lot of clouds as you head south into the Mid Atlantic states where we are also seeing some heavier showers and thunderstorms however most of New Jersey should miss this. South Jersey might see a downpour or a thundertorm overnight.t. The humidity break is a short one and we will start to see the humidity head up Wednesday along with temperatures. Look for clouds and sun with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s state wide.

Thursday is going to be the hot and humid day this week for New Jersey. We will see some early clouds but then sunshine will take highs into a range of 90 to as high as 94 or 95 in the hot spots. We will include the possibility of some scattered thunderstorms late in the day Thursday but not everyone will see a downpour or a thunderstorm.

While it will still be rather humid on Friday there will be more clouds around and that should help hold temperatures down. A cold front will approach and pass and there could be a thunderstorm or two when the front goes by. We are still not sure about severe weather risk here but with dew points near 70 and a rather unstable atmosphere I can’t rule it out. Highs Friday will be in the mid 80s North Jersey to as high as near 90 or so South Jersey.
