NO LONG TERM HEAT ON MODELS
With the Fathers Day weekend forecast signed sealed and delivered with lots of sunshine and temperatures about where they usually are for the middle of June we shift focus into early next week. The coastal low threats from various models are a non event as the system will stay well offshore. This will along a westerly flow to dominate Monday and much of Tuesday. With sunshine on both those days and a warming air mass, it seems that there is nothing to stop temperatures from making a run for 90 degrees on both those days. The next cold front will arrive Tuesday evening. So we have hot weather Monday Tuesday Late Storms before clearing Wednesday.

At least the humidity will not be a big issue on Monday though it might be a bigger issue on Tuesday ahead of that next front. Given that the marine influence will be minimal even on Tuesday, the front does have a shot to produce some strong thunderstorms when it moves through. We will evaluate this as we move through the weekend.

Once that front goes by it cools off a bit as another high builds to the north. Looking longer term through next week and a little beyond it is hard to see how it could get hot for anything more than a day or two here and there. Weather systems are moving along. The northern part of the jet stream remains relatively active. As long as that is the case you cant get a heat ridge to build in the east for any length of time. Now this could change as we move into the first part of July as some longer term models have been suggesting. However this is rather fluid from run to run so we will see how it plays.
