Gloom & Doom Rain Into Saturday And Again Later Sunday Into Early Monday

The descent to gloom and doom has begun and it will carry us through the weekend. 2 storm systems are headed our way with the first one now moving into the Ohio Valley and a large area of rain across the Mid Atlantic states is moving northward. Clouds will thicken up today with rain developing from south to north as the day wears on. The wind is coming in from the east and that will keep temperatures in the 50s to around 60 degrees. Once rain gets underway temperatures will likely ease lower.

We will see rain tonight into Saturday along with an east wind that will pick up a bit overnight and Saturday. Saturday itself will be a miserable day of overcast skies and occasional rain. When it is not raining we will simply go to areas of light rain or drizzle. Temperatures are going to really struggle and most highs will be in the upper 40s to mid 50s at best. It may be a bit warmer in South Jersey and points southward where highs will be in the 50s to near 60.

The first low will slide to the southeast Saturday night and we may get a break from the rain though it will remain overcast. Then we deal with energy that will be strengthening over the Great Lakes. A second low moving across the Southern US will turn up east of the Appalachians and strengthen as it moves northward.

More rain moves northward up the coast and overspreads the area during the day. Rain continues in Sunday night with a gusty southeast wind. Highs could make it back into the 60s with the low going to our west. Rainfall amounts between the two systems should total between an inch and a half to as much as two and a half inches before it is all said and one.

The low strengthens as it head into Canada and it will sit in Eastern Canada for much of the week ahead. This is going to lead to a chilly week overall with below average temperatures. Monday we will see some sunshine develop in the morning but it will be self destructive and lead to instability clouds and scattered showers. Highs will be just into the 60s. Tuesday and Wednesday that pattern will continue with self destructive sunshine, highs in the 50s and scattered showers developing during the afternoon. We may have to wait all week for this system to move out of the way. Also it will be breezy tio occasionally on the windy side Monday through Wednesday around the circulation of this rather large system. No warm weather is on the agenda anytime soon as we head into the start of May.
