Those of you looking for something to do on Monday Columbus Day you will have a warm sunny day for the most part to do some sightseeing of the beautiful fall foliage that is underway in the New York New Jersey Connecticut area and you can do it in short sleeves and shorts with temperatures in the 70s.
You don’t have to drive far inland for this as the changing of colors is heading toward peak in the next week in nearby areas. Inland Connecticut and the Hudson Valley north of 84 is ideal. Local parkways provide scenic drives with beautiful colors all the way up. Next weekend should be the peak weekend for viewing though temperatures are going to be colder next weekend with first frosts and freezes likely. But no big storms or big wind events are likely this week that would take down most of the leaves.
The beach might be another idea tomorrow as well with temperatures in the 70s and if you are okay with water temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, you might brave the water.
