Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England Warm Day Thursday
Colder Friday Through the Weekend No Storms In Sight
A warm front is moving northeastward into New England while at the same time we have a cold front that is approaching from the west in Pennsylvania. Low pressure is moving eastward across Southern Canada and Northern New England and this system from all standpoints is a weak one. The rain, and in colder areas some sleet and snow is not amounting to much and lies well to our north. It will be a matter of how much sun breaks through the cloud cover today and this puts us in a wide range of temperatures. Look for mostly cloudy to partly sunny conditions with highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s with the exception of areas to the north and northeast of NYC which will be in the cooler upper 50s and lower 60s. Other than a small chance for a passing shower, most of the area won’t see any rain today

This cold front is going to drop southward and stall temporarily from the Mid Atlantic to the Southern Appalachians and a weak wave will develop on that front. However it will take an area of rain to our south Friday. In the meantime a colder air mass builds southeast from Canada Friday and through the weekend.
This probably leaves us in an area of clouds for overnight and Friday and this will likely help to hold temperatures down. Rain briefly touches Southern New Jersey as the weak wave passes east and then the front drops further south, making it a non issue for the weekend. Friday temperatures will be in the low to mid 50s.
The weekend will be dry with no issue sbut it will be on the chilly side with a northerly wind and a cold high to the north. Saturday and Sunday should be no worse than partly sunny and it will be probably be mostly sunny at times. Highs Saturday will be in the low to mid 50s. Sunday will be colder with most highs in the upper 40s to some lower 50s. Next week starts dry and chilly Monday into Wednesday before we get a warm up late in the week. No major storms are on the horizon as this very dry benign pattern continues.
