Thunderstorms Possible This Evening
The satellite shows a dry area that has developed north and west of the coast with some sunshine breaking through the clouds while at the same time the radar loop shows rain in Central and Southern New Jersey especially along coastal areas. Also there are lots of clouds over Central & Eastern Long Island with the rain shield occasionally skimming the area. We also have restricted visibility over the Eastern half of Long Island due to fog with the marine layer. Where the sun has made an appearance temperatures are rising into the 80s while coastal areas where there are clouds and rain it is in the 60s to around 70.

Late this afternoon and evening some thunderstorms could develop inland though we see no signs of anything at the moment. There is a marginal risk of severe weather late this afternoon and evening for the Hudson Valley of NY and Western Connecticut with the risk for thunderstorms elsewhere.

It all gets out of the way later tonight and Tuesday we will be no worse than partly sunny with temperatures in the 80s. Wednesday looks like a great day with cooler temperatures and sunshine with highs in the 70s.
