Drought relief has finally arrived not only to our area but in areas to the south where rain has been non existent and fires continue to burn in Western North Carolina. At least they will see some rain out of this 1 2 punch coming up the coast. The first wave is moving through today. We will get a break from the rain tonight and then another round of rain develops on Wednesday into Wednesday night. Between the two areas we should see 2 to 4 inches of rain in most places. That at least makes up 1 month worth of rain. Now we have another 8 or 9 months to go just to get even! Just take today’s rainfall event and let it happen 5 more times!

Once we are done with this two day event the weather looks dry into the weekend however we are in what seems to be a bowling alley of events. The next one comes early next week with more rain. Yesterday’s European model tried to make a major storm in the Ohio Valley and it has backed off from this overnight. The European model has been very bad lately at showing major storms that are not there. But it does have the same idea as the GFS only a day faster. We will evaluate the long range later today.
