Cooler Day Ahead Showers Thunderstorms Possible Late Today & Tonight
We have a frontal boundary sitting across New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. It is a weak boundary but there is enough of an onshore wind that temperatures in most areas will be lower today than yesterday. 80s will still be reached from South Jersey and Southern Pennsylvania southward. Across NYC, the Hudson Valley, Long Island and Connecticut most highs will be in the mid 60s to lower 70s depending on how much cloud cover is around. There certainly is more cloud cover today and yesterday.

A cold front to the west is moving eastward but the front doesn’t have much with it other than clouds and some showers & thunderstorms. We do not see any weather that would qualify as severe. Some showers will be around this evening and tonight. They should be patchy rather than widespread.
Once this weather front moves through weather conditions should improve somewhat with clouds giving way to some sunshine. There isn’t a big push of dry air behind this front but there isn’t a strong gloom & doom onshore flow either so we will settle for cloudy to partly sunny with highs reaching the 70s.
Thursday and Friday look pretty much the same with nighttime clouds developing into the morning hours that give way to variable clouds or partly sunny conditions. Highs Thursday will be in the 70s. Friday the flow becomes more onshore and we could see highs in the 60s to near 70 and perhaps more clouds rather than any sun. This is going to set us up for another cold front and the chance for showers and thunderstorms later Saturday. Should that front stall it could lead to rain for Sunday. We will be working that out in the coming days..
