Coastal Rain Slowly Diminishes Later Today
Very Warm Humid Weather Ahead Daily Storm Risk
Low pressure both at the surface and aloft is sitting off the coast of Long Island and Southeastern New England. Bands of rain have moved back westward overnight and we see them around this morning. However this surface and upper feature will be moving northward today so we look for bands of rain which are on the radar to begin to diminish as the day wears on. Clouds will be around all day though some areas inland will probably see some breaks of sunshine developing. There will be a rather wide range in temperatures today from the 70s near the coast where cloud cover dominates to the 80s inland where there is a better chance for some sunshine.

WEATHER RADAR
Once this weather system in the Northeast moves away to the northeast tonight we will settle into a very warm and humid pattern for the rest of the week. Days will feature some sunshine. Dew points will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s making for very humid conditions, and there will be periodic chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms each afternoon and evening. It will be a case where the risks is there but not everyone will see them.
Tuesday and Wednesday there will be clouds in the mix as well as as a south wind. This will help keep temperatures from climbing much higher than the mid to upper 80s. Temperatures will be a little cooler along south and east facing shorelines of New Jersey, Long Island, and Southeastern New England. Winds will turn more southwest Thursday and Friday and this will allow temperatures to move up a little higher.
We will likely see temperatures move higher Thursday and Friday as highs reach the upper 80s and lower 90s. We also probably see a slightly higher chance for thunderstorms late week and a weather front Saturday approaching from the west means that we could see the highest chance for thunderstorms. Humid weather lasts into the weekend and we don’t see any real break in humidity anytime soon.
