Yesterday’s rain is long gone and we have a beautiful Christmas Day ahead of sunshine. Just watch for some black ice that has developed overnight and some places but that should quickly disappear once the sun comes up. The satellite loop shows dry air overhead so we should see sunshine all day long and temperatures should be in the 40s. There are no weather related travel issues all day Sunday or Sunday night as skies will be clear and temperatures will be in the upper 20s to mid 30s by Monday morning. Radars should remain quiet right into Monday.
Monday we should see sunshine give way to some arriving clouds as a cold front approaches for Monday night into Tuesday, That front will have a few showers with it but nothing more. We dry out and turn a little colder behind it but not much. A more important cold front arrives on Thursday with a slightly stronger shot of colder air behind it. And still another will approach later next weekend with a shot of cold air behind it. Models differ on the extent of the cold air and we will address these issues later today.
