Bitter Cold Monday Morning
We bottomed this morning in the teens and single digits as the core of the cold air mass has moved overhead. Now we will being a slow moderating trend that will lead us back into the 50s by Wednesday. Today we have no issues other than temperatures which are going to take their time climbing through the 20s to near 30 or so. Then it is another cold night tonight but not as cold as this morning as clouds will be in the increase.
There are no issues weatherwise until Tuesday afternoon as a warm front approaches. This could produce a quick burst of snow and sleet leaving a coating to an inch or so mainly inland north and west of the coast. There could also be a bit of freezing rain inland Tuesday night until temperatures make their way into the 40s. Along the coast it’s rain into Wednesday morning as temperatures rise. We will be warm through Friday however we will see colder air return Saturday and there could be a chance for snow or ice later Saturday into Sunday morning thanks to some overrunning precipitation. We will explore that possibility later today.
