Beautiful Weekend Underway Lots of Sunshine

A beautiful weekend is underway with lots of sunshine everywhere with just a few wispy high clouds moving through today. Even though we can see moisture gathering on the satellite loop it is well to the west of us and those clouds are moving mostly from south to north. Temperatures have reached into the 70s at mid day and we could see middle to upper 70s in some places this afternoon. The bar is low in a few locales where record highs are possible this afternoon. Tonight will be another clear night and Sunday will be another sunny beautiful day with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s away from the ocean. Radars will be silent here through Monday. Humidity will start to creep up some on Monday as the next weather front approaches for Tuesday. Until then not a drop of rain is forecast.

Monday we will see sunshine and some clouds and warm conditions with highs mostly in the 70s. Then clouds will take over Monday night with rain arriving on Tuesday as the front nears the coast and a wave of low pressure moves along it. We have not seen an area wide rain here since early September so the rain will be most welcomed.

GFS FORECAST RAINFALL FOR TUESDAY WEDNESDAY

how much rain we get will be dependent on the slow moving front and the timing of the wave moving along it. The GFS model gives us an inch of rain over Tuesday into Wednesday. It may take awhile for the rain to exit the coast. Behind the front cooler air moves in for Thursday into Friday. Thursday’s highs will probably be in the 50s to near 60.

The pattern is definitely changing and each front will bring a progressively colder air mass behind it and chances for rain ahead of it. It appears we could see another shot of rain next weekend with colder air moving in behind that front. We will talk more about the weather pattern going forward later today.
